Suppose, back in the day, that Howard Hughes had become POTUS, a more believable scenario than the current one in my opinion.
Can anyone argue that Hughes’ neuroses would not have affected his ability to perform his job?

An even better correlation; Caligula, who was already ‘beyond the pale’ as it is…
One does not simply declare “I win this thread.”
Just as a reminder:
OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) symptoms are not quirks. Nor is an insistence on having things a precise way an indicator of OCD. Both those flip things diminish what people who have it go through.
Unless the Times article explicitly mentions a diagnosis, then talk of OCD is merely speculation and a violation of the BBBBS TOS.
For a look at what OCD can really look like, I suggest this:
And please do not use specific mental health terms to describe pop-culture portrayals and perceptions of those terms. The signs and symptoms of being a controlling, abusive asshole are not necessarily proof of OCD. Nor is it a quirk, any more than a mental illness driven behavior is a quirk.
This stuck out to me, too. I can understand wanting to have a certain number “in reserve” for crucial items, but the half-full one… that’s odd. I wonder if it really means “two full over and above the one that’s open”, or if it really means that he needs the open one constantly refilled to the half-way mark? If so, there must be a hidden supply of extras, which means the two extras on display are to soothe concerns about the unseen supply running out. So many layers!
That’s not weird, it’s a concientious habit that everyone who shops for groceries by car should adopt in order to incrementally improve life on earth for themselves and others. It isn’t maladaptive, and unless there’s more to it that you don’t mention here under the umbrella of “real picky about [it]”, it most likely isn’t part of some sadistic power game designed to torment and demean other people in your life (family, friends, or staff/servants).
I totally disagree because I think that some people who voted Trump in 2016 are reachable and Independents exist. So it matters what criticisms you level and what words you say.
Yesterday the woman was testifying before congress mentioned Barron Trump and today all that is being reported in conservative media is about an unfair attack on Trump’s child. Maybe we could stop shooting ourselves in the foot by not bring up irrelevant things.
Trump decided when he wanted something discarded. When that happened, with clothes or newspapers, he would toss them on the floor.
You know how they say the Mueller Report can be read as a blueprint for impeachment? Well, this appears to be a blueprint for how to finally and irrevocably discard the man himself. Now, who wants to do the tossing?
Good for you. You’re allowed to have your own separate opinions and to post them publicly.
Have a nice day.

In context, it wasn’t “irrelevant”.
The woman was in no way attacking or coming after Trump’s child.
She used his name as a pun to explain the concept of the limit of presidential powers.
Maybe you should stop joining the chorus of idiotic Republicans chiding Democrats.
She apologized the same day.
FTFY
Maybe this is akin to that viral Van Halen performance venue contract that went around a few years ago where they specified no brown M&Ms. If they saw brown M&Ms then they know the venue didn’t follow the document and there may be other (safety related) things that weren’t followed.
If he doesn’t see the makeup and tic tacs portioned right, then he can’t trust them to do other things right?
Nah…he’s just a weirdo.
Abusers also use such techniques to keep their victims fearful and gaslight them into believing it’s their fault for being abused.
There are a lot of reasons for someone to behave in a certain way. None of which necessarily imply a specific mental illness.
Trump loved Tic Tacs. But not an arbitrary amount. He wanted, in his bedroom bureau at all times, two full containers of white Tic Tacs and one container that was half full.
Well, it makes sense. Being surrounded by lots of little white brainless things reminds him of his rallies.
But you’ve got the chronology backwards, we know Trump was into Tic Tacs a long time ago. Maybe the reason Trump likes rallies is because it reminds Trump of Tic Tacs?
Also, his tiny hands can only pick up tiny tic tacs.
Yeah, it can hardly be creepier or more weird than how he behaves right out in public. And from his public behavior, we can extrapolate (correctly), that he’s weird and creepy in every aspect of his life.
Hell, apparently we’re ‘uncivil’ if we do anything but simply passively accept the bullshit. (I’m thinking of people like Scott Adams calling others “uncivil” just because they don’t want to have anything to do with him now that he’s openly a misogynist Trump-fucker.)
The irony is that Marie Antoinette never actually said it, but I have heard almost identically jaw-dropping statements being made by the current crop of super-wealthy and members of this administration…
Exactly, and you know what I always say;
