Trump is "the greatest embarrassment in the history of our country" in this montage video

I’m old enough to remember when you guys elected Ronald Reagan.
The rest of the world laughed in an embarrassed way and said, “don’t worry, he’s such an idiot, they’ll get someone better next time” but then you re-elected him.
After George I and Bill, who were standard, business as usual types we were used to George II campaigned.
We looked at each other and said “no way, this guy is such an idiot they wouldn’t, would they”?
And then you did. And then you elected him again.
I’m hoping Trump lives a long life, because he has been such a wakeup call that he mobilses the opposition and also holds the reins of power in the republican party, and has no real clue what he’s doing.
That should keep us all safe for a while.

I could probably think of at least one or two positive things to say about Ronald Reagan too if I really tried. Not enough to make up for all the bad stuff, to be sure. But enough to convince me that Ronnie wasn’t entirely devoid of humanity.

Trump? I got nothin.’

What “real” international news outlet led you to make this claim? Please share a few clips or links…

Yeah, that much was obvious from your very first comment.

Enjoy your short stay, comrade.

He’s dead?

I can’t wait to be able to say that about 45; it will truly be the only thing I have ever actually liked about him.

Champagne saved up for it. Heck, I might even spray it at the people around my like I won some kind of athletic championship.

Auto erotic asphyxiation but instead of strangulation, he chokes on a chicken nugget? From a happy meal. And is found pants down, clutching the toy, comb over combed un-over.

(I don’t wish death on anyone, but I love thought exercises.)

Trump dies from choking on a piece of paper with a crude sharpie doodle of breasts labeled “Ivancʞa”, one of several he was making but kept ruining by mouthing or eating, in response to a text message asking if he had any accomplishments he wanted in his ghost-written memoirs.

The death that actually would have suited him for pure karmic justice was Covid-19, but of course their president was the one person the Republicans wouldn’t let that happen to.

Good god why would I watch a thing like that? The nightmare is over if you just rouse yourself.

My truth:

There are often more than two sides to every story, and not all of them are equally valid. Dualism might make it easier to have a basic understanding of history or current affairs, but it is lies-to-children and once you look in depth it becomes obvious.

My truth.

Any news source that claims it is unbiased gets mentally filed under “bad at recognising their own biases”. No, Centrist is not the same as unbiased, especially as the current group of “centrists” are right wing and ignore the existence of socialism, communism and anarchism to claim to be in the middle. If true Centrism was the same as unbiased we would all be hailing Bernie Sanders and the Squad as the guardians of truth.

No, it is all just mind games to make people uncritically accept statements like

So, do you include sources like The Morning Star, Freedom News, the Socialist Worker or the Socialist Standard (hey, there’s more than two sides in communism alone!) when you do your research?

I dunno… he was as racist as Trump but more effective. I got nothing.

I was not born yet when he became president I think though so I definitely had nothing to do with getting him elected, but also don’t remember his presidency very well outside of what I’ve read as an adult.

I’m not trying to turn this into a love fest for Reagan or anything, but examples would include:

  • Reagan was once a lifeguard, which implies that at some point in his life he was at least hypothetically willing to put his own safety on the line to help another human in need.
  • Reagan seemed to be capable of experiencing genuine love for Nancy and others.

Neither of those things makes him a Saint but they do at least give him a smattering of humanity. Trump? Not so much.

Yeah, even our former governor, who liked to say he’d been “Trump before Trump was Trump,” - that guy was horrible but I could still find things to value. Like, he did good stuff in the state with technical high-school programs.
But Trump…? There’s nothing personal or professional to point at and say, “you know what, at least there was that.
I know we have maybe more shameful history, but the fact that he was able to ascend to that office is truly embarrassing. (And shameful, tbc.)

Ohhh I understand then… maybe. You mean like Reagan at least had a “nice side” he shared with friends, and loved ones, or even had people he actually respected as human, whereas Trump is more of a dysfunctional sociopath who can’t accomplish even that?

Exactly. He’s the first American President I can think of who had no redeeming qualities at all, in either his public or private life. The best that can be said about him is that his ability to cause harm was ultimately limited by his incompetence.

You coined the perfect inscription for over the door of his presidential library, and hopefully his tombstone…
