I so hope it’s either Latino or Chinese, just for the sake of Trump’s reaction when he tries to get in the Pearly Gates.
I think for a presidential candidate to engage in a school child’s rendition of an Asian accent while on the campaign trail should qualify as racism by negligence at least, if not by actual commission.
I mean, most presidential candidates have enough adults on staff that they avoid this kind of crass bullshit – they’re at least sensitive enough to the possibility of accusations of racism to avoid them (or to engage in some degree of circumlocution).
The fact that Trump doesn’t bother is, I think, meaningful and perhaps even worthy of discussion (assuming anything about Trump is actually worthy of discussion).
I don’t disagree at all. It’s not presidential behavior, and it is mildly offensive. But it’s not anywhere near the level of racism that he showed when talking about Mexican immigrants, and shouldn’t be equated with that remark.
It’s not racism, it’s racism, but it’s not as bad racism as other incidents of his own racism?
If you’re trying to helpfully keep people from wasting their time here, you’re sure picking a strange point to defend.
It’s as if he doesn’t understand that my low level outrage is a renewable resource.
Classy!
