Trump praises mass-execution of Muslims with bullets dipped in pigs' blood

Worth emphasising.

When America elects bad presidents, the worst of the fallout lands on non-US citizens.

This is why the rest of us care so much about American politics: we’re the ones who get bombed/kidnapped/tortured.

Trump is a lot more moderate than Cruz or Rubio.

I’d almost prefer him to either of those two.

Does it? In what way are “they” ignorant? Explain directly to me why i’m “ignorant” bud? You’ve already called names now back it up. I already early voted for trump because he might say he’ll build a wall, but says right after “with a big beautiful door”. He says he’ll repeal Obamacare, and replace it with “something that truly addresses the 42 million uninsured”. Please explain to me why i’m ignorant because i have a different opinion than you?

you know there was a saying when i was growing up “its a free country”

is it still? am i still free to vote for who i want? i must just be ignorant huh

You’re free to vote for whomever you choose. The rest of us are free to mock the idiocy of your choice, and criticise the ethics of it.

Ain’t freedom grand?

you provided nothing to back up your statement. theres a word for that sort of behavior. i think it starts with the letter “I” … real classy!!!

The problem here is that this isn’t a problem of opinions. You are a supporter of an obnoxious, anti-intellectual, pathologically lying, bullying, thin-skinned narcissist fully unfit intellectually, emotionally, and psychologically to serve in the highest elected office of the US. That is either objectively insane, or you’re a moral failure. Either way I’m afraid your ignorance is of the type that can’t be rectified by a post on a forum, so there’s little we can do here. Good luck, you need a lot of help.

Me, and a significant portion of the rest of this country, which is demonstrated more and more every week. Thank you for proving my point about closed minded liberals living in an echo chamber. By the way, you are the one doing nothing but slinging insults!!! i have been on this site/blog since at least 2005 & because of that know it is a good place for people of competing ideas to debate… but dude you need to step it up!! Ad hominem insults are making you look really dumb!!

Has he explained how he’s going to do these things?

You might not know this, but I’m fine with Trump taking the primaries. Rubio and Cruz are really far more risky. There are a surprising number of racist old white people who don’t care about a leader being fit for office, but that “significant” portion you belong to isn’t significant enough to win in the general against Hillary or Sanders.

Happily, it’s clear you’re in no position to gauge intellectual capacity. Good luck with your problems, at this point luck’s the only thing that could help.

No he hasn’t fair point. But if we’re being realistic its probably because he’s shrewdly waiting until the general election to get specific. Is that good? Not really, but it is what every politician does, no? Hold out specifics for as long as possible?

Furthermore i personally (speaking only for myself) am okay with his lack of specifics because if the past 8 years have taught us anything, its tha even the best and most oulined plans do not get through on their merits alone. Being vague (again, speaking for myself) seems more realistic and fair to the voter. shrug

And when i brought up those two points i was mostly trying to point out that there is more to the story than just the headline “memes” that get people who oppose him riled up.

Well, to start with the first promise, about the “big beautiful door.” Considering his past prejudiced statements against Mexicans, why should one believe him about the door?

Hey dude. Please stop insulting me. I dont appreciate the way youre telling an internet stranger you know only throug text to “seek help” … all i asked you to do was demonstrate how i’m ignorant and youve not even done that. Instead you went off the handle calling me names & unstable… The kettle called for you, said something about black.

You’re free to be an idiot. No one here disputes this.

Guess so. And since ive already voted primaries ill kick back and vote for my guy again in November, since it sure seems like he’ll be there. We’ll see how things shake out then i sure hope the discussion is more informed at that point.

Informed about what? The Donald’s non-plans for “fixing” this country?

You mean something akin to this idiotic idea:

Because, you know, if you actually took some time to try to understand the people you hate, you may realize that they’re well… actually people. Strangely enough, they also frequently have real concerns with varying degrees of validity. Given this, a mutual understanding sometimes even leads to, gasp!, mutual respect, or at least some degree of peace and comfort. We wouldn’t want that though. Not good for business or politics…

I’m pretty sure that narcissism and batshit insanity aren’t contagious diseases.

So while it may make the hair on the back of your neck stand up, and may make you want to cry in the shower afterwards for days, you’re probably fairly safe shaking tRump’s hand (at least from a infection point of view).

Just to threadjack, his filesystem (iirc it was Reiser3) saved my bacon several years ago. I was working for a company that was almost exclusively Mac-based but wouldn’t spring for a newer machine running OS X Server. Long story short, I ended up spending a weekend migrating an old G4 over to Debian PPC, and I’ll be damned if Reiser3 was the only reliable filesystem I could find. Not only that, but ReiserFS tail-packing meant that Netatalk’s wonky handling of resource forks didn’t take up a ridiculous number of blocks.

Yeah…I can see that. The guy is openly sexist, racist, ignorant, and openly calls for doing some pretty gross stuff. How many times have we seen people get elected that promised one thing but delivered another?

That’s as far as I’ll go with that, because at this point I think it’s pretty nonpartisan.

I feel like with Trump, we’re seeing what we would get: a blustering fool who happens to have enough real estate sense to do well in that space.

Not quite. It was both Hindu and Muslim soldiers in the East India Company Army who mutinied, and there was a rumour that the paper cartridge cases they were being issued with (which they had to bite open to load their rifles) were greased with either lard or beef tallow.

Although there were of course plenty of other issues both within and outside the army that led to the mutiny/rebellion.
