Trump rally attendees nearly freeze to death after rally

His campaign is so broke, he’s been cancelling ad buys left and right. It’s no wonder there weren’t busses.

I noticed a lack of adds for Gary Peter’s Republican challenger in the Detroit market this evening. As in no ads for the opponent. Also only one, full of edited-to-lies “quotes” from Biden ad (ie - pro-45 ad) during the national news.

It really sucks living in a “battle ground” state for a good two monts prior to an election if you care to watch local or national news. :slightly_frowning_face:

It sure must suck to be that stupid.

More than likely bussing was organized by the lowest bidder. Or the one who kicked back the most to Donnie Two Scoops. In either case, not the competent ones.

I was part of the military unit that did security for The Great Poping of 1984 in Moncton, NB, Canada. Pretty smooth getting everyone in from remote parking lots, with folks showing up at daylight. We were in our positions by dawn, at the corners of tape & staked blocks with row/column letter/number identifiers. Went very well.

Moderate chaos at the end though. Same problem… nice even, predictable inflow, unpossible to handle by any means outflow. Thousands of tired worshippers trying to get down the one road to the buses. Lots of people chose to go thru the woods and get lost. We spent the night finding them and helping them to the bus lot. I don’t recall if anyone died.

Even cooler CSB: I was in an infantry unit. We had to wear our most formal regimental dress (scarlet red wool tunic with tight AF collar, white gloves, pith helmet, shiny parade boots, ,etc). And carry our FN-C1-A1 rifle. Bayonet in scabbard on belt. No ammo.

Perhaps even cooler CSB: a few weeks earlier a couple of M72 anti-tank weapons went missing somewhere in the supply chain. Our battalion spent a few days combing the base, everything was counted and recounted. As far as I knew, never found. But just a lowly private, so who knows.

EDIT: fixed 1894 -> 1984. Neither I or that specific Pope were alive in 1894.

As long as they get the rallies he has what he wants. And that’s what’s important.

He needs them only until election, and COVID has incubation time longer than that.

I realized it was satire the longer I watched it. She started out merely fanatical, but her statements got more absurd. When she mentioned Trump wanted them to learn a lesson but only Trump knew what the lesson is, I was suspicious. When she said she walked past people who were lying on the side of the road, that did it for me. (No Trumpster would admit that anyone needed help.)

Was the year inversion deliberate? “The Great Poping of 1894” has a great alternate-history/steampunk ring to it.

I was just thinking that military life was very healthy indeed!

Late-night typo. I’m not clever enough to for that to be purposeful. Fixed now.

Ironically, it seems they were only four miles away from the parking lot; had they walked they could have gotten there in about an hour.

Though not easy or convenient, it would have helped stave off the cold.
