Trump rants and sues as Biden victory looms

narcissists don’t work that way. they bend their understanding of reality and their memory of it to match their perception.

if he is booted from the white house, it will have been stolen, and he’ll spend the next few years trying to claw his way back shouting on twitter the whole time.

most modern presidents have stayed out of the press after leaving office and even mostly out of politics - showing up just here and there in feel good moments.

bunkerboy won’t go quietly into that dark night

You can take comfort in knowing that he is not sleeping well just lately.

The Guardian has some great graphics.

It appears our best hope is Nevada

Pennsylvania too. Those mail in votes are breaking almost 3 to 1 for Biden. Even if it’s 2 to 1, that means Biden would win by around 100,000 votes. If it remains 3 to 1, it’s around 200,000 for Biden. Basically 60% or higher of those votes go to Biden, he takes those 20 EV’s and there’s no more paths for Trump at all, even if Nevada slipped back for some reason.

Arizona is still being counted, so take 11 off Biden’s total for now.

Still, disenfranchisement is all that Trump has left. He will try to use it and the threats of going to the courts are already starting in Georgia and Pennsylvania.

Or (hopefully) he’ll be far too busy trying to defend himself in criminal court proceedings in New York State, eventually losing and having to report to prison.

Yep. Winning is going to be just the first step of many.

I have no doubt Trump thinks he can “make a deal” to keep himself in office. Everything is transactional to him, even the Constitution.

The problem is the damage he’s doing now will be felt for years to come. They’re already protesting as a direct result of that clowns words :weary:

The problem is far bigger than him, though. He’s a symptom of what is wrong with our nation. I worry that we are reaching a point of reckoning, an inflection point where this disconnect between the reality of what America truly IS crashes into the mythology of what some people believe America SHOULD BE.

Civil war? No. But the protests and violence is only going to grow. It was time, honestly. Past time if I think on it. And it’s going to be tough on us all.

That has been really shocking in all this- how many more Trumpkins there turned out to be in the country. Biden got huge record smashing turnout, and it may be barely enough to squeak out a win. Counting is still going on as I write this and it ain’t over yet, but even a win feels ragged and hollow with these numbers. That said, I’ll sure as fuck take it.

Do you want some nightmare fuel? It seems reasonably likely that Biden will end up with exactly 270 pledged electors. Which means a single faithless elector could determine the presidency. Not every state has laws legally binding electors to their pledges. And what happens if an elector dies before they get to vote? Could a GOP governor end up appointing an unpledged elector?

“. . . as Biden victory looms”, and looms, and looms, and looms. It’ll arrive any day now, like the next Game of Thrones book.

Georgia is the most surprising and likely. Its within less than 20,000 votes and a ton are still to be counted in Atlanta.

Probably more of this coming soon.
