No, it’s not a general word, it only means this specific event. It’s also discouraged to call it Kristallnacht these days because that’s the word the Nazis invented for gloating. It’s usually called Reichspogromnacht nowadays (Reich-wide pogrom night). But Schwarzenegger can be forgiven for that particular lapse because he left Austria long before such things were a concern to most people.
