As if people can’t find more direct methods to signal disapproval.
Just when I was getting fed up with wearing these masks everywhere, I have a new, powerful motivator to keep wearing them.
Might just keep wearing them long-term, as long as it keeps sending the right message*
- “Fuck Trump”
Hmmm… what does it say if I wear two masks? This could be a promising development…
maybe laid out on a scrabble board?
I’m glad that you’ve recovered. I too had a picc line, they are a pain in the ass, makes it hard to shower and the antibiotics I was on made me extremely tired.
Man, best wishes to you (in a completely sincere, not “thoughts and prayers” way). My cousin was in pretty much in the exact same situation (diabetes, bout of necrotizing fascitis in his leg last year). He had some minor symptoms that honestly didn’t “fit” with what was thought to be a primarily respiratory virus in Feb, then was found deceased in his apartment a few days later. We don’t know if he had COVID as they weren’t testing “asymptomatic” people (dead or otherwise) that early in the game, but it’s awfully suspicious.
Statistically, I’d likely be ok if I got COVID, but I wear a mask to both avoid the small chance that I wouldn’t be ok, also to F_ING avoid perpetuating a pandemic and potentially passing it to higher risk people (like my father-in law).
It has to be peak narcissism to think that someone choosing to wear PPE in a pandemic is about your personal politics. And I’m not going to say “unfuck him”. I’m go to go “Heathers” and say “fuck him gently with a chainsaw”.
The purpose of the hyperbaric oxygen therapy (they called it HBO, but it wasn’t nearly as enjoyable as the TV channel) was to super-oxygenate my blood that would promote the growth of blood vessels in my foot to help heal the wounds that were created as a result of my debridement surgery. Basically when you have flesh-eating bacteria, it goes through your body channels and leaves dead tissue in place, they had to go in and cut all that out and scrub it out with high powered water. They then leave the wound open for a few days, dressed of course, then go in again to see if the infection is still killing flesh. This caused my foot to be basically in two pieces, flayed open perpendicular to my toes, almost through to the bottom.
In fact the wounds were so big and deep you could clearly see my foot bones and tendons in my foot. Something like that is too large to be stitched up and has to heal from the inside out, so they pack it with different stuff like collagen, sterile gauze and other stuff, and it was changed every day. The HBO therapy really helped a lot, the foot almost looks back to normal except for a huge crescent-shaped scar on the top. This involved nearly a year of doctor’s appointments and even stem-cell therapy to get it back to normal.
Having spent that much time in hospitals, driving back and forth and doing everything I needed to do to get well really has enforced the fact that I need to keep healthy, keep my diabetes under control and also do everything I can to not get sick again because of my immune system.
No, he’s just a bigot hell-bent of destroying the country in order to reap a profit.
I’m sorry to hear about your cousin. NF is no joke, I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy, not even Trump. There is mortality rate of 26 percent for the condition, and not a lot of people get it either. And a lot of people do not know that you don’t just have to have diabetes to get it. There was an older man, in generally great health, marathon runner, that bumped his arm on a tree while mowing grass and contracted it in his arm. Nearly lost his arm but the therapy saved his life.
Narcissistic Personality Disorder isn’t usually classified as a “mental illness” per se. There is also no cure. It’s just who he is.
Dude that’s metal as fuck! Thanks for sharing your experience with me. As a medical researcher, sometimes patients wind up too far abstracted in my work, so I’m always glad to see stories like this and understand the patient journey better. If you don’t mind, what was the stem cell therapy used?
And no wonder! I’m glad you are recovering but I really wish you didn’t have to experience that or, at least, didn’t have to mortgage yourself up to the eyebrows to pay for it. You probably have, and for that, you have utmost sympathies.
Maybe we can just give him to Khorne?
I’m not sure but it came in a box and was like postage stamp-sized stuff made from placenta. They basically placed it over an area where there was open wound and then it was covered up with a dressing for about five days. When they removed the dressing it really smelled bad, and the surgeon said “Yep, it smells like the stem cells are working,” because it gives off a unique smell. The growth of skin cells in the wound area was amazing.
Well I have a pretty high medical deductible, $3,000, and once I hit that everything was 100 percent paid for after that. It’s still a lot of money, but I am thankful that the lion’s share was covered because it was nearly $500,000 that year in medical bills, last I checked. Thank you for your kind words.
I like it. Direct and to the point. I’d buy a few.
I was wondering… given the reasoned discourse on the subject of mask wearing, how would this one go over:
Maybe we should vote this clown out of office.
Trump is the center of the universe. All things revolve around him. Other people only have value to the extent that they extol the Great Leader’s sublime virtues.
I’d settle for one that said “It’s not a magic talisman, Karen, you have to wear it over your mouth AND NOSE.”
I wear a mask to survive. I’m not in that death cult.
Who knew that the fifth horseman was ‘Incompetence’?
