Side thought, I don’t know how any voter can look at the long list of incitements and convictions on the Russian Interference probe then read “Russia Russia Russia hoax” and think Trump has any foot in reality.
I miss politicians who just had a different opinion, not a different set of facts.

Though I have far better things to think about, I do sometimes wonder about the Gilded Turd’s ghost text writer. What a toxic job that must be. Such an open sewer of words…just endless banal meandering mean-spirited petty name-calling drivel (that somehow, astoundingly, seems to work effectively as propaganda!). The only edits would be removing the content that isn’t outright lies, or not heartless or self-glorifying enough. It can’t be him actually typing it all out, yet it does read just like he talks. Dictated then lightly filtered through a shuffler/compiler typist flunkie I suppose.

This is the thing, though: what problems? The guy is old, and only now in his dotage is he starting to face anything like consequences. Yeah, he’s been to court; yeah, he’s been bankrupt, but it doesn’t really have any impact on him. He’ll die a free man from complications due to being 90% chicken grease on his golden toilet in his luxurious trash palace. He is the poster boy for “there is no justice.”

I’ve often wondered if there is a big chunk of his supporters who spent all of their school years confused and bored. And therefore being confused by words means, to them, the speaker is an authority on the subject.

I never watched it. Is that the case? I thought it was taken seriously at the time when most people still believed his billionaire persona. But then again, I could never judge how seriously people take reality TV. It’s such an alien form of entertainment for me.

Yah, that’s a fair point. Consequences have been zero so far. I was thinking more about the hassle of having to show up in hearings, the stress of it all, etc. I wouldn’t want to live with all that all time. Being Not Evil seems so much easier than fighting against every part of the system all the time Iike that.

Yeah, there are a lot of people who will just dig the rabbit hole deeper, they’re probably a lost cause already, but my hope is that some will ponder the choice “either there’s a conspiracy against him, or he’s just not very smart or honest or moral, and it finally caught up with him.”
You can add to that list all the prominent Republicans who are opposed to him, the cabinet members he fired who all call him an idiot, and Fox News’ own polling showed he only averaged a 40% approval while in office (a record low.) So, to the crazy uncle at Thanksgiving dinner, “Trump won” makes no realistic logical sense. Trump lost and Biden didn’t need to cheat.
