Fox News has been living by that credo for years.

Ok, so I know when Trump fans think America was great – back when it had slavery, only men voting, things like that. But when does she think it was blonde before?

Their fascist fever dreams feature “a past” that has never existed in our reality.

(I know you know this.)

Every time I see that picture, Don Henley’s voice sings out:

“We’ve got the bubble-headed bleached blonde,
Comes on at five,
She can tell you about the plane crash,
With a gleam in her eye.
It’s interesting when people die,
Give us dirty laundry”

I hate Trump as much as any rational person should but I think this is a stretch to call this a neo-Nazi message. I think it is just a bad attempt at humor.

It’s a white supremacist message. The joke is that there is no joke, because making America great again really does mean making America white again.

ETA: I just realised who you named your account after. I’m not American and I don’t have an encyclopedic knowledge of American presidents.

I’m certain that humour is how this would be defended, and could be the genuine attempt. But we all know humour can be used to send much deeper messages.

Exactly. It’s getting pretty tedious, this splitting of hairs about this shit. the core tenant of National Socialism was in fact German (and by extension white, as they defined it) supremacy. Does it matter if they are exactly like nazis, if their goal is still the elimination of those they deem subhuman? :woman_shrugging: Eyes on the prize people, these people want to destroy the country and anyone not like them. We should, you know… care about that, rather than the exact definition of neo-nazi maybe? I guess that’s totally unreasonable of me, but hey…

Literally the only result Google came up with when I searched for “JC Calhoun,” so if it’s truly a coincidence it’s a doozy of a coincidence.

Also interesting choice of avatar there…
