Not a legal opinion but one I would stand by:
So the $6.1B getting (arguably) illegally redirected to build this boondoggle could, instead, send about 50k kids to 4 years at somewhat pricy universities (I used $30k/year, which might be high, for my calculations).
We can’t have nice things in the US, though, so a useless “wall” shall be constructed.

They missed the obvious “Schadenfrude Spice Latte.”
President Donald Trump on Wednesday again tried to distance himself and the U.S. from the Syria crisis, telling reporters asking about Turkey attacking into Syria, 'It’s not our problem."
Trump said of the Kurds, “They’re not angels.”
More of same, I guess. Shit.
Did someone tell him that Kurds were black? (I thought that phrase was basically exclusively used to justify police killing young black men)
So much winning…
Son Barron must be doing trump’s correspondence now.
Also thrown in trash a NATO agreement.
Obviously the odds on bet is that Barron grows up to be an entitled asshole son-of-privilege. Still, Barron really is only a kid and I am glad Melania has the sense to just keep Barron far away from things.
I don’t think that’s common sense. I think they’re ashamed of him being on the autism spectrum. I give her no credit for that.
Oh, that’s a desperately sad thought.
If only we libs* were anywhere near as terrifying as the right wingers say we are…
*and left-leaning centrists, and right wingers who aren’t crazy, and whatever Democrats are
I call myself a centrist because I lean left or right depending on the topic at hand (as I suspect most people do…as Chris Rock so eloquently points out they should do).
But I will say this…at their worst the most liberal people just sound silly or dreamerish to me…even the centrist conservatives scare the shit out of me with the amount of stupid they espouse.
So…put that in the mathematical hopper and see where the idea of normal lands.
This may have been mentioned upthread, but every single time he’s accused of profiting from his position by violating the Constitution, Trump’s recent obsession has been with Obama’s Netflix deal. He rants on about how horrible, unconstitutional, and illegal it is for Obama to sign contracts for book deals and produce movies years after he’s no longer in office. It’s super weird even by his usual standards.
If I live a hundred years, I’d rather those years be silly and dreamerish than the conservatives’ idea of “normal” these days.
