Trump the Chump (Part 2)

Well, but see, god-king-new-jesus Trump gets immunity, but criminal-mastermind-incompetent-nincompoop Biden does not… /s

Nah, far too literate.

(excerpt) Judge J. Michael Luttig: “The Supreme Court does not want to decide this case and they will likely look for every legitimate way possible to avoid deciding whether the former president is disqualified from the presidency. But there are very, very few, if any, off ramps that would allow the Supreme Court to avoid decision in this case. Indeed, I believe there are none. Section 3 of the Constitution simply couldn’t be any clearer."

I hope Judge Luttig joins with “like-minded legal experts” and file an amicus brief with the SC.

How cute. He’s not expecting illegitimate attempts. They make up shit whole cloth on decisions older than the US.

I respectfully disagree. That’s not what he said and nothing in his comment points to he possibly not expecting that illegitimate attempts could be made. In fact… just the opposite, and that by he – as a former judge (very careful with his statements in the interview, as you may have noted) commenting on the possible actions of nine jurists – having to say what, in a properly working SCOTUS decision-making process, should go without having to be said. His comment points to his awareness of the current dysfunctional state of SCOTUS and the horribly reasoned decisions of its conservatives.

I mean, the Red Scare nonsense in the oath should obviously GTFO, but I don’t think Haley or Christie are secret communists. That would be dope, but I don’t see it. And Haley might want to keep the option of overthrowing the government open as a Hail Mary in the event Trump doesn’t go to jail, forgives her betrayal, and asks her to be VP. But why won’t Christie sign?

It turns out Fascist, Fascist Lite, and Fascist Zero are all the same beverage.

But DeSantis signed! Although I can picture him just signing whatever gets placed in front of him without any thought whatsoever.

It seems to me like for Christie, signing would be a simple thing to do to set himself apart from Trump. Not overthrowing the government and defending the Constitution has basically been his brand, right? Maybe maintaining the facade is wearing him down. Or maybe his backup plan is invading Illinois. Idk.

Eh, TFG signed it twice and it didn’t stop him from trying, so…

I had an idea that might be worth adding to the requirements-to-be-POTUS list (age>35, born in USA, etc.), or maybe added to each state’s election rules:

“I swear to abide by the decision of the election committee, no exception. No take-backs. No mulligans.”

You shouldn’t be allowed in an election if you’d don’t agree to the rules.

I’ve no skin in the game, other than living next to the 800kg gorilla. So I’m watching the dumpster fire to the south with much consternation.

Took me a bit to get to “consternation”. So many emotions. I will admit to being entertained too. We’re watching history here. “Where were you when TFG was perp-walked from the courthouse to the van?”

After all, Trump is best known for his adherence to rules and commitment to honoring oaths and contracts. Should work great.
