He hasn’t read Clausewitz, and seemingly nor has Bannon. This is a good thing, let’s keep it that way. The longer Bannon sticks to his area of expertise - World of Warcraft - the better.
I’d be happy for the UK to join that, along with Ireland.
I’ve noted the vulnerability to criticism, and nothing will mitigate that.
Hampshire and New Hampshire.
York and New York.
Jersey and New Jersey.
Yep. Checks out.
There was a decade or so in Australia where being gay was not criminal…except in Queensland and Tasmania [1].
People are daft.
[1] Rodney Croome, Australian gay rights hero, had a lot of fun [2] in the last few years of Tasmania’s ban by presenting himself at police stations and “confessing” to being gay.
[2] A version of “fun” that includes a potential 20-year sentence in prison.
A long time ago, I had a boss who shook hands in the Trumpian manner, pulling the other person toward you, putting him slightly off balance. It is really a dick move, and if the recipient quickly transfers his weight to a slightly rear foot, the gesture will fail, and the asshole will be put off balance. LOL!
Not if Trump’s new Secret State Police round them up first.
The current ideological split in the country is not between the states, but between the cities and the rural. So, unlike the civil war when there was a clear delineation between the set of slave states and free states, there isn’t a straightforward group of progressive versus regressive states.
Someone should tell The Kleptocrat how the White House ends up in that scenario.
(Don’t ask me how the other buildings are still standing, It must have been a small nuke or something.)
Bannondorf does appear in another series of games, but he probably doesn’t want to be connected to it and repeatedly getting beaten by it’s ‘liberal’ hero Link.
I wasn’t thinking of that.
TFA lost me at
“Professor Igor Panarin said in an interview with the respected daily Izvestia”
There is no news in Truth and no truth in News (Pravda=truth, Izvestia=news) - Russian saying.
Has the author of REAMDE made public comments about Trump? I know that the author of Halting State has.
Stephenson is actually dealing with his own stuff right now, I’ve heard, but he may comment. You never know.
Last time someone did that to me it became an ‘accidental’ gut-punch.
I can’t remember the circumstances, and that is so not-me, but somehow the memory of the fuck-you reflex is clear.
Sometimes the news from Australia makes it sound like Russia with sunshine.
Still, no worries getting into the US from Australia. Even Rupert Murdoch made it.
It helps to think of Queensland as Australia’s equivalent of Alabama or Mississippi. And Tasmania has more than a hint of six-fingered banjo to it (gorgeous scenery, though).
