That’s stretching a bit, AFAIK American satellites have been able to read the time off a wrist watch since the 1970s.

Even George Smiley never imagined tradecraft like this.

This is why Bernie’s promise to tell us if there are aliens is superfluous. The only secrets Ill Douche is capable of keeping are the ones his accountants don’t tell him.

Are we sure they’re providing the President with real satellite imagery?

You can see a glossy shine in the center. This means they provided Trump with a physical image on photo paper and Trump took a picture of it with his phone and tweeted it.

They probably do it that way to prevent digital copies floating around, but they didn’t figure on Trump seeing an excellent opportunity to gloat.

Melissa Hanham, deputy director of the Open Nuclear Network at the One Earth Foundation, believes that the resolution is so high, it may be beyond the physical limits at which satellites can operate. “The atmosphere is thick enough that after somewhere around 11 to 9 centimeters, things get wonky,” she says

Hanham also says that the European company Airbus has been experimenting with drones that fly so high, they are technically outside the atmosphere and thus operating outside national boundaries.

Um, wouldn’t a drone at the top of the atmosphere suffer from that very same limitation?

When day after day… week after week… year after year… a leader’s actions are constantly and consistently causing damage and injury, breaking down safeguards, compromising security, disrupting clear communications, poisoning the overall environment (even when it might be simpler to not do so)…

Doesn’t that start to look rather… intentional?

tRump demonstrates again that he has no respect for intelligence, classified or otherwise.

What’s even more disturbing is it looks like the posted picture looks like it was taken with a cell phone – like someone snapping a picture of the photograph. Which raises the question, what the fuck kind of security procedures are they following?

ETA: Looks like the article makes the same observation:

Glare in the center of the image suggests the image in the tweet was itself a photo of a briefing slide. Panda suggests it could have been displayed on a computer screen in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility. It’s also possible it was a photo of a piece of paper.

I can say this because it’s been declassified.
If you take multiple pictures using a range of wavelengths the difference in distortions can be used to calculate a non-distorted image.

You can’t be outside the atmosphere but also be flying aerodynamically. Either they’re rockets or ballistic projectiles

Donny probably calls this method “Putin Pics”.

LOL - How did he get the photo in the first place? I hope they aren’t SENDING stuff like this to his phone.

If he took a pic of a printed out image, you would think someone would be like, “That isn’t a good idea, what are you doing.”

Ah - what ever.

Hey anyone know what the writing says on the ring?

The old adage about ignorance and malice never really seems to acknowledge just how destructive consistent ignorance can still be.
