If anything, the people who should be mad the most at Trump are used car salesmen and real estate agents. He’s abusing their rhetorical tools of “persuasion” so much that people are becoming inured, and worst case are blowing them off as being “just like Trump”.
I for one have had enough of this Glengarry Glen Ross administration.
I actually thought he was trying to call Harris “…the most liberal person in Congress,” but diagramming Trump-speak has got to be some sort of special new torture for grammar teachers. And I don’t think that is based on anything other than the fact that she is black and “liberal” is an insult to him.
I still demand a better future. That rules me out.
Seriously, the past is gone, It’s never coming back. The best we can do is try to make tomorrow better than yesterday, regardless of how shitty today is.
Yes. I forgot my /s tag. So I entirely agree. But it does not necessarily contradict with yearning for a political era when things were … different from today.
I’m a total fuckin’ hippie who had to look down just now to make sure I wasn’t wearing tie-dye when typing that, and even I used to identify as [paleo]conservative. Of course, that was back when I was näive enough to believe that any of those folks actually believed in liberty and responsibility in a grown-up, real-world manner.
It is relative to reactionaries, not political reality.
But it is also a rule of politics, that embarrassed supporters of a belief will shift themselves to the left to gain legitimacy. Reactionaries become conservatives, conservatives become moderates, moderates become liberals, and all this is done without any of their beliefs actually changing. Maybe in a few years we will have liberals saying they are socialists to gain support and votes.
I’ve been using Kumquat as a general go-to insult for years; although I normally use the alternate spelling Cumquat, which is recognized as a valid spelling by most dictionaries.
I get really nervous about intentionally misspelling words to have multiple leading Ks, as there was an organization which was famous for intentionally doing so; any time a word could be misspelled to have a leading K, the KKK did so. (Please imagine the most insulative description of the KKK as you can here, indicating how much I hate those fuckers, then realize that I hate them even more than that…)
I guess what I’m saying is… can we go with Cancerous Cumquat instead?
I have to take exception in only so much that based on the actual definition of “stupid” I think Nostradumbass is better defined as ignorant than stupid. But, I’m splitting hairs here.
I don’t know… ignorance suggests a state of affairs that can be remedied? It’s just knowing something and you can always learn something. He’s willfully ignorant, I’d argue. He knows he can fix his ignorance but refuses to do so.
