I don’t have the stats at hand, but I remember the very conservative FBI estimation that something like 90% of all girls sexually active prior to age 15 got their start by being sexually abused and/or assaulted by family members or very close trusted adults like religious leaders or coaches. The information was used to explain why requiring a minor to have to get a parent’s authorization to get an abortion was so messed up: oftentimes the reason the 13yo was pregnant was BECAUSE OF her father, so requiring him to be the authority over her with regard to the situation was a miscarriage of justice.
This girl either got her start that way, or with Bouchard (an adult at the time). She manages to get out of that bad situation only to get into another bad relationship, because how would she know what was a decent guy? She’d never had a safe, supportive romantic relationship in her life. So, she ends up killing herself in desperation. Bouchard is part of the reason why she had gotten to that place of no return, which makes him culpable in her death, not just sexual assault.
Don’t be so foolish. Sex-ed would just encourage kids to become active sooner. Then you’d end up with situations like 14 year olds hooking up with 17 year olds.
The rest of my post stated my point. Jerry Lee’s career flopped once the news got out. In the case of Bouchard and the GQP that doesn’t seem to be a problem.
It’s kind of irrelevant to bring this up, but since you keep bringing up JLL, I’ll just say that the news of the marriage hurt his career temporarily, but his career recovered. Perhaps not at the same height true, but I suspect the British Invasion had a lot to do with that as well.
I’m for pointing out religious hypocrisy, however the Immaculate Conception is a Catholic concept of the conception of Mary as a perfect sin free vessel so she wouldn’t give off icky girl cooties when she gave birth to Jesus/God/Undercover Boss.
On the other hand, a surprising number of Christians, including Catholics, don’t know this and think the Immaculate Conception refers to the conception of Jesus.
(The irony of this concept being that if Mary could magically be born of free of sin, then there was no need for God to impregnate her to have himself born on earth and have himself executed so that he could “die” for the sins of humans. )
I posted about his pedophiliac relationship once and clarified my original post for somebody when I was questioned about the purpose of that post. I don’t feel that I “keep bringing it up”.
Sometimes it’s more fun to not explain the joke. It’s part of what makes dry British humor an art form. But in this case, you may be right. Not sure people picked up on the paradox. But then again, it wasn’t that funny. More of a wry observation of hypocrisy.
Heck, I’m a Jew who studied history and I know more about the Church than most Catholics, or so called christians in general. Many of them don’t even realize the bible wasn’t written in English.
