Trump's healthcare column with all the lies removed

I guess as a candidate he did promise those things and that technically isn’t a lie, no matter if he meant it at the time or not.

How about you stop complaining about what everyone else has done or is doing and tell us what YOUR plan is?

I agree – as a group, they are pretty conservative. But that’s not what ToadStool meant – he meant they are all flaming socialists. So this is a lie too.

The original is shocking low-brow lies. The whole thing can be demonstrated when he writes:

Today’s Democratic Party is for open-borders socialism. This radical agenda would destroy American prosperity. Under its vision, costs will spiral out of control. Taxes will skyrocket. And Democrats will seek to slash budgets for seniors’ Medicare, Social Security and defense.

Nothing like beating the drum of “they are the party that plans on bringing in brown people to the country, raise your taxes to spend tax money on government programs, and and heavily cut government spending!”

I’m surprised that you left the “centrist Democratic Party is dead” line in. That’s a complete lie.

Also, you’d have to remove the byline if you’re removing all the lies. He didn’t write a word of this. I doubt he had anything at all to do with the authoring of it.

President Donald Trump wrote…

Good one Rob! Ye, I’m sure he just sat right down at the Resolute Desk and got out his crayons…

I’d bet lots of money he hasn’t even read it. I surely wish some reporter would ask him about it in a way that shows he has no idea what’s in it. They could even lie, to catch him: “Mr. President, your op-ed in the USA Today says you want to jail people who ask the government to redress grievances. Could you elaborate?”

Show of hands - you do know we’re all fucked, right?

If I believe a word that Trump says, do I qualify for mental health benefits?

A lie travels halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes. I started to read Trumps op-ed, but it was so obviously full of lies it was maddening. And the Trumpkins will eat it up and shit it back out at us over Thanksgiving dinner this year, so even if USA Today provides a rebuttal it wont matter, “the Democrats want to put Medicare into the hands of Washington DC bureaucrats!”

I, too, sometimes wish that a more aggressive press would catch Trump in an outright lie. Then I remember how much good that’s done the last few dozen times he was caught in an outright lie. Then I weep.

Yeah, I was going to say - that’s a lie, too. Honestly I’m surprised there are even these many factual statements in it. Two whole sentences! Of course, Trump himself didn’t write it - if he had, I’m sure he would have improvised some lies to adorn those as well.

I gagged my way through the whole (mercifully brief) op ed and found it kinda funny that he accused the Dems of wanting to impose government control over education. Isn’t that, uh, already the case?

Heh, and still over by 50% on the number of lines that aren’t falsehoods.

Since it had his name on the byline, it’s technically all a falsehood.

You forgot the scare quotes around the word “wrote”.
