The difference between this and the last time, is that this time there will be evidence presented, witnesses called. The prosecution are House Democratic members. Who are the defense besides those random Trump lawyers?
The Senate result may be foreordained, but that’s not where this fight is.
If the prosecution dominates this trial and Trump’s defense is a joke, then the Republicans are going to have to eat a big plate of doggy dinner in return for that vote.

Which is sort of the whole point. Decisions about who runs the country and whether they are doing a good job are supposed to be taken by the voters, whether directly or indirectly.
Depending on how you count today, I think it’s approximately .8 Scaramuccis or “Mooches” until the trial.
