Trump's VP pick widens the ideological gap

This one’s also worth a look

Hey there now, I’ve been to Decay, Ohio, it’s a nice place!

It’s just down the turnpike from Rust Belt, isn’t it?

I wonder how much of this decision came down to Trump’s people just trying to take advantage of the age thing. Trump can only get so much mileage out of “Biden is old!” on his own since Trump himself set the previous record for oldest candidate to assume the office and hopes to do so again. But Vance is only 39, which would make him the second youngest VP in history and potentially the youngest POTUS ever if something happened to Trump.

Is that anywhere near Bootstraps?

And that’s how Trump will ensure that nobody ever tries to assassinate him again. I’m only half joking. Picking somebody who is somehow even worse than him as VP would make everyone hope and pray that Trump finishes his term if elected.

No, Bootstraps, Ohio is a purely fictional town from some Ayn Rand novel…

Boo. So someone just made up that phrase, huh?

It’s just as stupid as “You’re too weak to pick yourself up in a bucket.”

The phrase “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” was originally supposed to illustrate an absurdist, impossible task but then it somehow got appropriated by idiots to mean almost the opposite (“you can make it if you just work harder, basic physics be damned!”)

Won’t busses be needed to shuttle people to the internment camps?

Only half joking, there.

Contrary to the old myth, fascists don’t make all trains (and buses) run on time. Just some of them…

Look at Mr. Fancy Pants over here, expecting to ride to the internment camps.

Listen, son, Making America Great Again means taking the country back to the glory days of the 19th century and great American innovations like the Trail of Tears. You think those folks rode buses to the semi-arid patches of scrubland that had been generously set aside for them? No, sir, they walked, and if a few of them fell by the wayside, well, that was just too convenient bad …

No, they’ll be made to walk at the height of summer.

Mostly not joking there…

Mencius Moldbug is Curtis Yarvin’s pen name.

Can we just skip to the part where he gets locked away for the rest of his life? It will save everyone a lot of trouble.

Did he split a lunch bill with Orban or Putin?

He paid the whole bill for both. And the (stingy) tip. Morality-free suckup that he is.
