A person who has a healthy sense of priorities and personal fulfillment would never even try to amass that much money for themselves. What is a fortune like that if not a form of hoarding?

if anybody needs to read appalachian fiction, i’d suggest barbara kingsolver’s book instead
it’s an emotional rollercoaster of a read, but she describes what people face better than someone like vance ever could.

In the brave, new corporate America, there won’t be buses. Buses are public transport, and as everyone knows, public transport leads straight to socialism.
