Twitter "seriously considering" Musk buyout after initially rejecting it

I know a number of twitter employees, and many of them have already been openly vocal for Elon taking over. Tech is weird. Companies have to foster that kind of diversity and communication that leads to what we hear all about with “left leaning tech”, and twitter doesn’t do that at all. Not even remotely.

I’d wager some managers and employees are already in communication and taking instruction/ product requests / feature requests directly from Elon and Elon’s team.

Twitter as a company has been consistently losing money almost all the time since it went public in 2013 (its only profitable years were 2018 and 2019), and it is not exactly clear how that could be changed. If I was a Twitter shareholder I would probably welcome a reasonable offer to take the stock off my hands.

If the stuff on Twitter was really representative of what most human interaction was like I’d just cut my losses and spend the rest of my life as a hermit.

If you poop in the garbage river, does any one notice?

I just hope he doesn’t allow Trump back on… that would be bad

The only part of me that wants this to come true is the accelerationist part. Apparently that part of me can be quite loud under certain circumstances…

I too believe we should be free to call anyone we don’t like a pedo and then get scammed out of thousands of dollars while feverishly attempting to save face

I seriously believe Musky is buying Twitter to destroy it, much like a Russian oligarch would sink his own yacht to collect the insurance money.

Of course, he will. The uptick in page views and media coverage will entirely justify this ridiculousness.

Who is going to buy Twitter from him once he pumps up the stock price even further?

I think it would take a very stable genius to do that.

“I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means”

yeah, of course. because if they leave voluntarily, he’d be denied the joy of banning them

and now he’ll have that chance

Block @elonmusk

Sooner or later, he’s going to have the algorithm tweaked to increase his visibility.

Still a lot to do before it’s finalized. A lot can happen.
