UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson in intensive care

Trump has stuck his oar in and might be pressing for Johnson to be given hydroxychloroquine.

Gibberish, as expected.

Also in ours; unfortunately, one won in 2016.

Not sure about the 50/50 part - more like 80/20 as a best case. Everything I’ve heard is once you’re put on a ventilator then you’re probably not coming off of it alive. And even if you do, you’re facing some pretty serious long term complications.

St Thomas’ hospital are doing early intubation, as it has better outcomes. That is where I assume the 50/50 survival comes from.

Yes. That’s why some of us went into isolation as soon as we could. It’s about the first time in my life that I felt privileged to be on disability welfare.

The US could do with a National Teenage Party, questioning the idea that teenagers are denied the vote for being immature, using Donald Trump as a counter example.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson in intensive care

It makes sense, I guess, given that his partner is pregnant. He does have form when it comes to avoiding taking responsibility for his children.

I get the line here that everyone is tiptoeing including the moderators.

There is really no proper Universal answer or response to the situation here. At least not one universally satisfactory to everyone.

This is not paraphrasing anyone but myself- I say to hell with this experiment failed in humanity called Boris. I will not openly advocate for death or murder but I am not going to pretend I care if he ends up succumbing.

At some point Karma has to take the form of something in a real sense and if this isn’t Karma eating his ass I’ll never know what karma is. If good people can’t see hope in evil leaving I would say that is hopelessness in and of itself, in a far more pervese way.

I am fully aware that stating that might make me a horrible person I’m just going to say I am okay with that- and I am also okay with any of this if it means I end up going from the virus myself

How much do you want to bet it’s a box of hostess sno-balls, viagra, a bottle of some Russian escort’s urine, and some tic tacs that Melania promised him were his daily “Corona Cure” pills (hush, those are secret. For president only!).

It certainly is evolution in action. Just not the social Darwinism type the Tories prefer.

Don’t forget he’s absolutely evil.

All right, own up: who used the cursed monkey’s paw to wish that Johnson would be out of No. 10?

It may be the only way to stop him doing a runner.

My social media feed is divided between those who say “Despite the politics, I hope he gets better” and those who say “I don’t normally wish anyone ill, but…”

My reaction is “He who would kill me, I will wish them dead.” I think that covers the issue.

Not a question of sympathy for me. I’ve voted anyone but Tory for the whole of this century (I was an idiot when I was younger). I’m also a keen Remainer, and I loathe Boris’s cynical adoption of a hard-Brexiter mantle purely for his own personal political ambition.

But whatever I feel about him, we’re in a national crisis, and he’s the PM we’ve got. He and his cabinet may have not done enough, or fast enough, but they are at least semi-competent (which is more than can be said for some national administrations), and a power vacuum is only going to make things worse.

Especially when his nominated successor appears to be Dominic Raab, a man who achieved adulthood, a degree from Oxford and high political office without realising that a great deal of UK trade went between Dover and Calais.

There’s a lot of vile folk about, and a few are on here. I can’t think of any democratically elected politician I would wish the death of from this. That’s even more the case when they’re comparatively young and have a pregnant partners. I hope none of the internet tough guys have to go to a funeral with the deceased’s pregnant wife there, I’ve done so and it’s miserable. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone - and if you do, particularly whilst trying to claim you believe in compassion, or altruism, you should think again.

For what I heard, once you get to the “ventilation in prone position” your chances are 20% at best…
