Under court order, Arizona county officials certify election results

When I read that, all I can say is “you should be”.

It may be the Friday afternoon edible, but that made me gaffaw with laughter. I’ve never heard that monicker before, and yet instantly knew who you meant.

Nope. If they didn’t certify, they were not going to change the outcome of state-wide races in favor of Republicans but they could have flipped results in favor of Democrats for a US House seat and the state head of education.

In some jurisdictions, yes.

Someone who is sadly no longer on tumblr coined it. Here’s a link to the hysterical post on my tumblr.

If breaking electoral law is a felony, and they are convicted, doesn’t that bar them from voting?

It depends. If it is one felony their voting rights are restored when their sentence ends. More than one? Then you need to go to court and petition for restoration

Corrected. Thank you!

I think it’s also a case of them exercising their power in the place they can. The cranks are in charge of deep red districts, so they are playing their little 5d chess games in those districts, with no regard for the actual possible outcomes (good or bad). They want to make a stink and this is where they can do it.
