Big deal, we can all go back to the office/store/job site/whatever starting Monday.

The Republiban had spoken, we can all go about our (pre-COVFEFE-19) normal activities.

If and when the stock market roars back to life, the rich will get richer and people will remain unemployed.

I think this number might rise soon, as the states begin to implement the expanded pandemic program to self-employed workers.

So pushing 10% unemployment. Cool.

Cool cool.

Sorry I take it back. 12.4% https://www.dol.gov/ui/data.pdf

Pieces of Eight! Caawk!

More than one in six American workers are now jobless. Where is the breaking point? It’s gotta be around here somewhere.

In the United States, unemployment rose to 25 percent at its highest level during the Great Depression. Literally, a quarter of the country’s workforce was out of work. This number translated to 15 million unemployed Americans. : https://jobs.lovetoknow.com/Unemployment_During_the_Great_Depression

We now have twice as many people unemployed than we had during the Great Depression, and space has only gotten tighter as the population has grown.

Even though the current percentage is lower than it was back then, I believe it’s worse now because the total number of people affected is so much higher.

It certainly doesn’t help that our elected officials are working so hard to fatten the bank accounts of the wealthy (including themselves) and are doing next-to-nothing to help any of the plebians who are suffering.

Again, where is the breaking point?

Looking forward to large signs over homeless encampments reading “Trumptown”.
Like the Hoovervilles of the 30s, except these are directly Trump’s doing.

So back to work May 4, 2020 for a majority of US states. Let’s give folks two weeks to start showing symptoms. Another week to realize it could be COVID-19 and not the flu. I predict another large COVID-19 spike during the last week of May. The question then will be should the President order social distancing reinstated? Or are we going with getting the economy restarted and Donald Trump re-election chances improving is more important than a few more lives lost.

I’l be watching Texas closely. Massachusetts has already said Hell No Bozo!
