Hey JD…
Never thought that I would get so much mileage out of this image
I could be generous and say maybe he was hearing ceiling fans, but I don’t think the convention center has those either.
From The New Republic.
Vance explained that Donald Trump is a “different kind of Republican and under his leadership, the Republican Party is the party of the American worker,” and asked his audience to take the Republican National Convention as an example.
“It says a lot who each party chose to put up on that stage. At the Republican convention we were featuring everyday American workers—and of course, we had Hulk Hogan. And while it’s tempting, and I’m sure it would make some big headlines, don’t worry any-ev-everybody I’m not going to try to take off my shirt here—” he said, stumbling slightly, to zero crowd response.
He is just implausibly bad at this.
he’s considered to be one of the most unpopular U.S. vice presidential picks over the last 100 years — even more unpopular than Sarah Palin!
He’ll probably eclipse Spiro Agnew and Dick Cheney as well. That’s an extraordinary level of repulsiveness.
The song caught my attention. It is not, as the MAGAts would like to imply, a paean to their America First neo-fascism.
It’s neat how he manages to throw the entire pre-Trump GOP under the bus, come across as completely inauthentic, and elicit “Oh god, please don’t” thoughts in such a concise way.
That’s the least convincing, “Sempre Fi” I’ve heard.
Just what you’d expect from a REMF PR officer who lets people believe he was on the sharp end.
And why is he saying “Semper Fi” to firemen? Between that, the music, and being introduced by a Florida Republican Congressman in Boston…it had so many weird moments.
Are you telling me “Semper Fire” isn’t about fire fighters? Then what else could it possibly mean?
(No, I don’t think these Republicans have fides or any of its derivatives in their vocabulary, why would they?)
The event was in Boston, but it was a national union convention. Apparently Geminez was once a fire chief. And Tim Walz was there the day before.
I saw a clip of that part. It elicited a lot of boos. No one’s buying that shit.
So, apparently no other person in the IAFF could introduce him other than a friendly FL congresscritter who was a firefighter before 2001? It just seems weird to me that this was the best they could do. I think using someone who was either a local or who is currently an active member of the IAFF may have been more helpful to JD Vance.
I guess when you are an ex-marine you need to say it every time you stand up to speak, regardless of audience. Just in case someone forgets you served in the marines.
Trump picks the BEST PEOPLE!
It was heart-warming to hear the boos start as soon as he began to speak.
Was Vance actually a pogue? I don’t know any details of his Marine career.
Idk, I just had to look up what pogue meant and I don’t think I’m qualified to make an assessment there.
