Thanks. You’re very right, that the only thing they seem trained to do is react with violence. I’d really like to see something that goes deeper than this, though. Why are they trained that way, and why is it tolerated by society, or rather, why has it been tolerated for so long? It probably goes back to the eighties and the increasing militarization of the policing. Again, the level of this among industrialized democracies seems low compared to the US. They’re fairly unique in this.

Now the question will be, does the investigation end when they resign? I suspect so.
