Pssssst (Brian is that you?) the image you used is the James River Railway Bridge (CSX) in Richmond, Va.
The bridge in the story is also called the James River Bridge but nearer to Newport News, Va. More commonly known as the James River Drawbridge by some.

I was confused because that didn’t look like the US-17 bridge to me; didn’t realize it was the I-95 bridge.
