I checked the CP USA website (cpusa.org), and it doesn’t exist there, as I expected it wouldn’t. I then googled for it, and didn’t find it anywhere. She seems to have made it up herself, or found it on some right-wing site that Google doesn’t index.

I haven’t seen the exact thing she read, but I know I have read in the past similar tripe from the 50s or 60s. I am sure there are those “freshening” it up every now and then.

N=1 study says nope, I’ve made more money than i would have thought possible and have moved way further left than i thought i ever would. Both of my brothers same. My sister married a Republican lawyer, so, there is that.

I heard his switch coincided with 9/11. It was suggested, without proof, that fear drove him into conservatism’s trembling arms. If there’s more to that story, it might be an interesting case study in the fear / conservatism link. But I haven’t checked.
There’s also the point that his career high-water mark seems to be around 1992. People in financial decline will sometimes do kooky shit.

FWIW, she’s quoting “The Naked Communist,” by a 1958 conservative author, W. Cleon Skousen. Although I imagine she’s reading something that landed in her inbox or Facebook feed and thinking it’s 100% legitimate.

In the embedded video a “Watch it on YouTube!” box obscured the CR in “Criminal Justice Subcommittee,” with the result that I first read it as “Minimal Justice Subcommittee,” which seems more appropriate.
As for the list of Communist goals…as a middle-schooler I read Masters of Deceit and would have turned into a proto-MAGAite if I hadn’t been too damned lazy to stockpile guns against the Commie invasion. Wrote some fanfic about it, though. A chink had already appeared in my conservative armor, however. At one point J. Edgar quoted a Communist bigwig talking about all the awful things they’d do to destroy America. As I remember it, the man said, “…and we will make sex as casual as…this!” as he threw out a glassful of water. My shocked 13-year-old reaction was, “Yeah, man!”
