This isn’t relevant to the main point, but I wish people would stop making this claim that America is the greatest country in the world. I’ve heard Obama say it too, along with plenty of other people who should know better, but it’s made as a self-evident fact rather than an argument. I’m not suggesting another candidate for ‘greatest country’, but America is actually pretty average in a lot of my criteria for greatness.
