Actually it can be mostly stopped by changes in law without changing the constitution. The decision that political spending is a form of free expression can’t be overturned. The decision that corporations are entitled to it can. The constitution gives power of expression, but statutes are the thing that gives that power to corporations (by saying they have the powers of natural persons or something like that). This might be thought of as a “nuclear option” for corporations with too much power, but I’d do it in a heartbeat if it were my choice. Who the hell thinks corporations should have human rights?
