I so love that man. His humility always impressed me, so much so that I keep a tiny Spock on my alter. My one brush with greatness: he responded to one of my tweets about Carl Jung’s Red Book. Sigh.
I LOVED Spock when I was a kid. Dunno if it was the ears and the alien look - the fact he was a science officer - or maybe his voice and use of logic.
I was thrilled to watch the show In Search Of when he did the narration/presentation.
That’s what sold me on it too. It’s Spock, I had to watch it. And no matter how ludicrous the topic, his Vulcan voice and logic made it seem true, or at the very least, fascinating.
His legacy still lives at the Mugar Omni Theater at the Museum of Science in Boston. He does part of the intro and every now and then they bring back this chestnut:
