And only have the death threats to deal with.
Judge’s memoir about being a blackout drunk mentions a few of the friends he used to get drunk with, all referred to using pseudonyms to protect their privacy.
One of those pseudonyms? “Bart O’Kavanaugh” (I swear I’m not making that up).
No one will ever suspect.
Takeaways:
-
Kavanaugh blames the dems as on some revenge tactic and a…wait for it…some kind of witch hunt.
-
dr fords time was very calm and measured. Dignified and informative. Kavanaugh time was angry, bitter, vile, uncivil, tribal, and ugly.
-
they to a man believe that Ford is telling the truth that something happened to her and she was assaulted but disbelief that it was Kavanaugh. You cannot have this both ways. If you believe her then believe ALL of what she says.
-
Kavanaugh did not even watch her testimony.
i should just flag this comment for the misogyny-enabling, false-equivalence peddling piece of excrement that it is. but not only have you shown that you have no decency but you have also shown that you have no logic. you have made comments permeated with numerous flavors of victim-blaming but you have also shown that you have no sense of logic. you have tried to create some titanic edifice of malice and conspiracy while ignoring the simplest explanation of all, the one that explains everything–that she is telling the truth about what had happened and that kavanaugh has just enough vestigial shame to deny it, at all costs.
Oh boy. So either Kav just lied to Harris about not having watched Ford’s testimony, or someone was lying on his behalf earlier this morning:
The journalist’s tweet was deleted, but the WSJ note is still there (with an update):
What a spectacularly odd and stupid thing for either of them to lie about, though. Nice to see that they can’t even keep stories straight about what’s happened in the past eight hours. It definitely lends credibility to his protestations of innocence.
They do say it’s always the cover-up. Lol, he lied about watching a video under penalty of a felony.
I’m just baffled by the fact that this is a disputed event in the first place. Like, why would Kav say he didn’t watch her testimony if he had? What does that get him? Cool-guy points with the shitweasels who were already going to confirm him? What would the aide have gained for themselves or Kav by lying about Kav watching her testimony if he wasn’t? Wouldn’t “he’s not watching because he’s prepping his defense” be a perfectly reasonable thing to tell a reporter?
Like, seriously, what the heck? Even in an environment where the president lies about nonsensically trivial things as easily as he drinks Diet Coke, this is just a breathtakingly minor thing to fuck up for no freaking reason whatsoever. I just don’t get it.
Even as a test to see how stupid GOP voters are it doesn’t make much sense.
Yes. Optics was their thinking, wrong-headed as that may be.
I like the Nigerian scam angle.
No questions regarding presenting as a credible witness? No deep questions about her testimony?
Hopefully, those making such threats will be rooted out and prosecuted. Possibly she could sue those who revealed her identity.
She might sue her assailant.
Why would she sue herself?
Also, it looks like you missed this response to a similar comment you made earlier:
The Marines I know are usually up to responding to that kind of challenge to their integrity. But to be fair, they’re the type of Marines who also tell me that a stint in the Corps usually knocks the propensity to BS right out of a man. Based on your comments perhaps you’re one of the Ollie North exceptions to their rule.
Dude, Flake is not going to roll on trump. He’s placating his states moderate base and will fuck them like he has done time and time again.
“Bart O’Kavanaugh is the real rapist!"
Of course he was. Why the fuck would he lie about that?. Rhetorical of course.
I wonder how Kavanaugh would respond to a witness appearing before him in his appeals court who refused to answer questions and was as belligerent to the judge as he was to the Senators?
Likely he have them found in contempt.
