From the previews, it looks like this is going to expand on the whole ending of Tennant’s run, which really works for me. I liked Smith more than Tennant (I know, I’m a pariah), but Tennant was highly enjoyable in it, especially with Tate. Donna was far and away my favorite companion, mostly because she had zero affection other than friendship. She also was very much in charge of herself instead of being the fainting waif needing saving.
One of my favorite comments on the Doctor Who subreddit was “I hope his last line is ‘OK, I’m ready to go’”. That’s proper clever right there.
