What does "Make America Great Again" actually mean?

Yeah, cliquishness does seem to be a trait that separates conservatives from liberals. I think everyone likes to hang out with their own group to some extent but liberals tend to be more accepting of outsiders.

Oh, you can make anything up and post it to social media!

Iā€™ve been getting told. Repeatedly.

Indeed, itā€™s not like there are cameras everywhere now, documenting these incidents.

Chumbawamba has a song called Celebration, Florida that always comes to mind when I hear MAGA:

Truly an age of wonder we live in, and so fortunate the erasure of institutional racism has given everyone access to the capital needed for such labor saving machines!

I have never advocated deregulating everything. I donā€™t think Trump does, either.

We will never know for sure, but I imagine that big banks were not supporting HRC because they hoped she would pass new financial regulations.
I have plenty to worry about with Trump. He has policies that worry me tremendously.

OMG! I was just listening to that song last night and now Iā€™m totally connecting it now.

Those things are very expensive. When we have used such equipment, it was through cooperative ownership spread through a whole community. The same goes for moving livestock. We still drive stock from summer to winter grazing and back. It takes more people than anyone has in their family, so everyone comes and helps.
There is not enough profit in farming or ranching anymore for family owned operations to buy lots of fancy new equipment or hire a bunch of people. We can barely afford to keep the place in the family as it is, and only because of side businesses and ā€œrealā€ jobs. More loans would just lead to more repossessions.
I am not supporting any sort of racism, institutional or otherwise. My original point was just that there is no real financial incentive to keep anyone from contributing and thriving, at least from the perspective of a normal working class person. I guess the oligarchs would like to see us all working as serfs. But even that is a self destructive attitude. If nobody can afford to buy their junk. they fail as well. But I am not an economist.

My original point was your statement was ridiculous.

I adore you for your bluntness.

Many people will only see what they want to see.

Is there a limit to your crassness?

If there wasnā€™t an economic benefit to racism and oppression of women and gay persons, the GOP wouldnā€™t fare so well.

And yet, it looks like his treasury secretary is going to be a Goldman-Sachs guy. Also:

As youā€™ve shown repeatedly what you think is often contrary to facts which you ignore. Sound arguments are based on evidence, not something you just make up because it sounds good and then try to back up with a claim of an obscure source you can no longer find.

I guess we are going to have to wait and see.

Heā€™s made nothing but endless noises about deregulation. We know what heā€™s going to do or try to do because he said it. And he has a congress which is fully on board with that agenda.

Obviously this isnā€™t for the whole country, but where I live, it tends to mean, ā€œopen up the coal mines againā€.

This part scares the hell out of me. I mean, yes, having been on the other side of it before the regulations tend to suck, but many of the newer regulations were put in place to discourage treating investment like itā€™s a casino. Those are the rules heā€™s been talking about repealing lately, and it seems like Wall Street is digging it.
