There seem to be a lot of Hoppeans in the libertarian-right at the moment.
The left-capitalist libertarians are trying to make alliances with libertarian-socialists, which will be an uneasy situation given the competing economic theories of both groups. I think C4SS are trying to make the alliance work and while I may disagree with some of the articles on there I think they are far better than Reason.
The current front page (10th October) is more left wing than I usually see.

On the topic of whiteness as a construct with ever-shifting definitions:
Hostility to the Irish continued for decades, but over time, their image in American eyes improved. One reason was the arrival of new immigrant groups, southern and eastern Europeans and, even more so, the Chinese, who could be more easily stereotyped as alien than, by this time, the familiar Irish.
A whole political party coalesced around rejecting Irish immigrant, coming primarily from the more impoverished, Irish speaking communities of the west and south, fleeing the famine and political oppression.
And it should be noted that the Irish did a lot of the work to ingratiate themselves into white society themselves, in part by dominating the Democratic party in the north east, and by pushing for bans on Asian immigration.
Yeah, the piece described how earlier waves of tradesman and farmers with skills were accepted, then when the waves you’re talking about started pouring in, sentiment changed.
It was an interesting read. It’s especially topical locally because we have a sizable Somali population and the predictable white freak outs.
Last week a group of neonazis showed up from out of town and stood vigil outside town hall with anti-Somali signs.
I like how the local paper has been covering, “hey, this whole place was built by immigrants, and they all got treated like shit, maybe let’s not do that anymore.”
It sucked.
The only upshot’s are that they don’t actually live here, and they got chased off by a man with a camera within a few minutes of being noticed.
Assholes.

As I keep saying, you stand up to these chucklefucks, they melt away, because they are fucking cowards… which is why their favorite tactic is finding individuals to target and attack while hanging out in a large group. A group of 4 of 5 of them feel safe enough attacking people in ones or twos, but not in larger groups. Because they are fucking cowards.
