White Florida cops appear to racially profile driver, then learn she's state attorney Aramis Ayala

those cops might beat the case, but they’re not going to beat the ride.

I wish I could say I fucking hated this society only some of the time. Though I suppose there is a scale between hate and fucking hate, which I might slide along sometimes. I’m sorry your grandsons have to bear the brunt of this ugliness.

My grandson (age 16) told me last week how lucky he feels being white, because ‘They’ bother his best friend just because he’s black and his "special"friend just because they’re brown. And They only bother him if it’s really late at night & he’s hanging out where he’s not supposed to be.

“ITT?”

And speaking of possibly joining the site in bad faith:

Welcome to Boing Boing, comrade!

I’m certain we can expect much insightful, thought-provoking rhetoric from you in your future posts…

Good thing the cop never had the chance to plant any Cookie Monsters in the car.

urbandictionary.com suggests “in this thread,” but beyond that it’s a mystery.

When I fight authority, authority always wins. Cops too learn that in their own way, one at a time, just like the rest of us.

I got rousted by the cops from a jobsite the other day. There was an off duty cop there and apparently he called in the real police. I only had to stop by to take pictures, did so, at the request of the property owner, and left as the real 5-0 rolled up. They followed me for a half mile, reeeeeal close and then veered off a side street. Later that day when I was inspecting public housing for hazards, I got asked by one of the property managers about my day, I told her that story, and she asked if I knew anyone who did my job who was black, and I realized I don’t - but I’m going to be hiring some people before long and I had noticed that was a thing, and was sort of planning to put my thumb on the scale when my time came to open up my department a bit - but now I’m realizing a little more of the reality of it all. I’d really have to think twice about sending some folks to the neighborhood I blythely walked into and took my pictures and wandered out of untouched.

Good thing i remembered to be white when I left home that morning. I’ll have to be thoughtful about this in ways I didn’t think I had to 5 years ago. Interesting Times.

that doesn’t look like the CO to me.

We certainly do live in interesting times (sigh).
