I think this is that same situation where Fauci can testify, but then Trump’s next move is to possibly fire Fauci.
Except, would Trump really fire Fauci? Somehow, I think even Trump knows this is a Trump too far.
EDIT: Trump is out-Trumping himself when he says Fauci can testify before the Senate but not the House. This has got to be the point where Fauci takes a stand. He cannot be above politics anymore, since, to do nothing (attend the Senate but not the House) is being political; it’s supporting Trump by allowing the Senate to loft softball questions at him.

Trump was already impeached but not convicted on obstruction of justice for behavior exactly like this. There is no reason to believe he is going to stop now that he has the full support of the Senate on this sort of behavior. Mitch McConnell wrote him a blank check and he’s cashing it.
