Why do Trackballs, Rollers, Wheels, etc. Help Some People and Hurt Others?

Apparently they impose a lot less arm strain for many people, and a lot more for others including me. I know they create absolutely agonizing tendon pain for me. I think it’s an interesting question, and I think a good answer would help people know whether to try or to void these, based on how their arms work.

Thoughts?

I suspect it’s a musculoskeletal difference, because the tendons, rather than a sensory/coordination difference.
