@beschizza has been known to poke the hornets nest for fun and being very good at it.

Hey, I’ve voted third party more than I’ve voted for the Dem over the years. Guess what? My guy never wins when I vote third party. But this time, the possibility that I might help Donald Trump get elected by tossing a vote at Johnson or Stein would be bad for my mental well-being. But go ahead. Knock yourself out.

Oh, it’s that, too. What so many so-called anarchists ignore is that Anarchy doesn’t mean everyone gets to do what they want with no interference from others, it means there is no government to protect you from others doing whatever they want to you, including rich “business” owners who “can tell you how to live your life if you want to have enough money to survive on.” In Somalia, they are called “warlords”.

Rob doesn’t poke hornet’s nests, he gets other people to poke hornet’s nests.

Which is why I believe that anarchism (in it’s socialist sense) isn’t where there is no government, it’s where everyone is the government.

It is a far more collectivist belief than what most “Libertarian-Capitalists” and “An-Caps” can handle though.

That’s direct democracy, not anarchy.

Yep. Anarcho-communism is not only not an oxymoron, it’s one of the most common structures of collective self-governance for small, isolated communities.

Some days it sounds like a damn attractive one, too.

Anarchism died as a viable political movement in the Spanish Civil War. They had a tough time doing much outside of small collectives.

Direct Democracy is an essential part of anarchism. At least it is if you look at the 19th and 20th century anti-capitalist anarchist movements. “An-Cap” isn’t really anarchist, for the reason I mentioned in my older comment.

Read some Peter Kropotkin if you want more information on how the two are connected.

You forgot to advise him to ‘Viddy well’.

First of all, Carter is unfairly maligned. More importantly, you’re forgetting Nixon.

I’m unclear on your meaning.

I think @L_Mariachi misparsed your post and read it as saying that Carter was worse than the others.

Not necessarily. Not if we elect a good congress. The presidency isn’t everything, but you have to make sure an insane person doesn’t get it.

Probably better than Clinton, but I can’t bring myself to vote for someone who doesn’t take global warming seriously. #feeltheVerm

They should have gone with John McAfee. They missed a great opportunity to get in tune with the zeitgeist of this election by nominating a real loose cannon instead of a boring guy who’s not that bright.

You mean like getting rid of the FDA, Social Security, fund welfare, schools, the EPA, public housing, the arts, deregulating business and industry, workers’ rights to organize, etc…THAT kind of taking care of the country and its citizens!!!
