Why (or why not) to vote for Bernie Sanders

It’s a good choice. Not a popular one, by its nature, but a good one.

The DNC never learns. In 2000 they succeeded in shutting Ralph Nader out of the debates. He should have been there. But they chose to shut him out. If he had had a chance to debate, get beaten fair and square and then bow out, he would have done that. But they chose to go to war with him. It pissed him off, so he ran independently. If Nader had not been on the ballot as Green Party, Gore would have won decisively in a few key states and beaten Bush with no supreme court hanging chads nonsense shenanigans.

Now nearly everyone looks back on it and says fuck you Ralph Nader! I don’t see it that way. I see the DNC as digging their own mass grave. I didn’t like George Bush, but I’m glad Nader did what he did. He was right.

And so the DNC is at it again, this time with Bernie. Sure, it’ll play out differently but they never learn. They are doing everything they can to shut him out and make his life hard. All it would take is for him to get put in a mindset that the DNC has been unfair and he decides to run independently.

They really should fix their shit because Bernie could sabotage their entire grand plan with a flick of the wrist.

Personally, I think he should run independently and piss everyone off. The USA has not yet learned its lessons on how fucked up its political system is. I think we need to be told the hard way, by a big Dump Trump Fuckup presidency. I don’t want it. But I am sick of all the stupid and corrupt people running the country. Maybe we could have our own little Hitler for a few years and wake the fuck up on the other side. Doubtful, though, because this country is so full of bigoted churchy ignoramuses.

This. They assume that they deserve the votes they get, because where the hell else are people who aren’t racist, sexist, xenophobic fucktards going to go. We need to revolt against this, and some people are doing it. It might not be enough at the end of the day, though. things aren’t going to get any better if we don’t stand up to the bullies on both sides of the supposedly “political divide”. None of them give a shit about us and we need to actually call them out on their shit for once instead of just voting for the lesser of two evils.

It’s important to help pursue justice in solidarity with communities and people who ask for help, particularly in the context of gender violence.

If a conservative justice is appointed to SCOTUS to succeed J. Scalia, the results would be bad everywhere, but esp. for girls and women in Texas.

I don’t think anyone here has said that this isn’t important. That doesn’t support the point you seemed to be making, which is politics is about justice.

You can have a justice orientation in your politics but “justice” is not inherent in politics.

That’s not a compelling reason to vote for Hillary in the primaries.

It’s neither good nor bad. It’s lunch. Then he goes back to work, out in the open.

The DLC is still the issue. The DNC is something else. The DNC and Nader is NOT what is even on my radar, and it stinks like a big ol red herring.

Bernie is glad for your vote.

I’ll tell him you said hi.

Maybe D’ump will decide to run as an independent if Cruz keeps saying nasty stuff about him… In which case Bernie would stand a chance running as an independent. Hell, maybe they could put their heads together so it wouldn’t require a suicidal lunge from one of them.

It’s be just what both parties deserve… fuck those guys.

Are you capable of conversing metaphorically? I don’t give a rat’s ass (sorry @RatMan) if Bernie eats his lunch alone or with a table full of Republicans. The conversation is not about that. It was about the nature of being an Independent.

The DLC is an issue, but they are not the main issue now. The main issue now IS the DNC and their puppet-strings on the primary process.

Who do you suppose is pulling the DNC strings? And wants to be driving again?

I knew you would say that, but it’s still not the main issue at this time and there is no way to “get at” them anyways. We still have to go through the primary process and eventually we might have a chance to unglue the puppetmasters-of-the-puppetmasters, but first things first.

Other than stop being a Republican, not much.

#Why (or why not) to vote for Bernie Sanders:

He has the best chance against the D’ump. Consider the horror.

There’s not really that big a difference between Hillary and Bernie

Yeah, right :unamused:

Now is a great time to learn more about the work of the DSA, esp. with the challenges faced in South Carolina, on Super Tuesday and beyond.

(Are there any other DSA organizers on the bbs?)

Oh look, another racially inflammatory lie from a civil-rights hero turned Clinton shill:

I am afraid to look for more examples of this.
