If the members of the DNC aren’t allowed to favour candidates, I wonder when DWS will resign?
Nice, “interventionist wars of regime change”! I’d replace interventionist with imperialist, but still, that’s some straightforward talk. Bummer that it’s over the heads of most voters.
Whoa whoa. This is a nice family librul blog. Careful how you throw around radical concepts like sovereignty.
2016: highly educated or poorly educated
But didn’t trump get them both in Nevada? He loves the “poorly education” and they love him, apparently… >_<
Someone might send a memo to our leaning in millennial sisters.
And what’s the new economic base for socialist feminism? Is it revitalized labor? Or something else? Younger feminists sometimes claim it’s fine to affiliate with corporations, “free” market policies and branding.
Look at the feminist response to sexual violence in the NFL. No substantive challenge and now they’re taking money from them.
Neither dem candidate has the feminist chops to argue for dismantling the NFL. Theory fail.
Trickle-down feminism ?
I don’t think they’re the only one… I think lots of second wavers thought in this way, too, and likely some third wavers as well. Lean in is just the most recent iteration of that sort of feminism. And that means more ambitious projects, like exposing the violence coming from the NFL or the general hypermasculinity of American sports, is not going to go far. It’s about making the system more inclusive on the axis of race/gender/sexual identity, not tearing down the structures that enforce them…
So yeah… theory fail all around, no doubt.
That about sums it up.
2016: Combover Fascism or Sorority Racism?
I hate Lean In so much. An oldie, but a goodie:
Oh my god. I just realized Jessica William’s twitter tag has “SJW” right in the middle of it! We’ve gone through the looking glass people.
Here’s how Clinton rigged the votes in South Carolina:
Sanders continues to be (much) more electable than Clinton.
http://www.cnn.com/2016/03/01/politics/donald-trump-hillary-clinton-bernie-sanders-poll/index.html
Clinton tops Trump 52% to 44% among registered voters…But when the former secretary of state faces off with either of the other two top Republicans, things are much tighter and roughly the same as they were in January. Clinton trails against Rubio, with 50% choosing the Florida senator compared to 47% for Clinton, identical to the results in January. Against Cruz, Clinton holds 48% to his 49%, a slight tightening from a 3-point race in January to a 1-point match-up now.
Sanders – who enjoys the most positive favorable rating of any presidential candidate in the field, according to the poll – tops all three Republicans by wide margins: 57% to 40% against Cruz, 55% to 43% against Trump, and 53% to 45% against Rubio.
And mass media bangs the drum for Clinton. We may well be fucked. I just keep hoping Trump is the ultimate darkhorse, or this is the longest con the country has ever seen.
Sanders appears to have lost Mass. by 1% or less.
That 1% is the exception, besides that, Bernie easily tops Clinton in Blue States.
Where there are more Democrats, Sanders is preferred. Where there are less Democrats, people are less hopeful, and are afraid to rock the establishment boat.
Clinton’s going to get the nomination on the strength of states she won’t win in Nov against any Republican.
Trump’s going to mobilize millions of anti-establishment voters, and she’s the easiest possible target for him.
