… from the samples at least… the don’t seem to bring anything to Pony and the other cut sounds like the Eagles. I mean, they play them faithfully and skillfully, but a big meh here.
And, fwiw, I’m a big Wilco fan, I actually saw them twice on this tour that just concluded. If you saw those, and especially the encores, it really shows how great a RnR band they can be when they want to kick out the jams.
Does Wilco really do the “wall of sound” anymore? I’ve really missed it - everything I’ve heard for a while has been much mellower and much more accoustic-based than the stuff on Ghost and YHF that I fell in love with.
