Well since this particular side track started off with someone mentioning lions on a coat of arms, and not actual lions, the context is the one in which those lions used to be called leopards. There’s a discussion on lions vs. leopards in the Wikipedia article on the heraldic lion.
Frankly, I’m surprised they have an issue with alternative sexualities in Poland. According to the World Bank, the % of adult males in Poland who smoke was last measured at 36.38. That is, almost 40% of men in that country are smoking Poles.
