Wisconsin's Penzey Spices spent $92,000 on Facebook #Impeachment ads in just one week

That doesn’t sound legal. Campaign money is for the election. I don’t think it can be spent willy nilly on ads telling people that he shouldn’t be impeached. That seems like spending unrelated to the election.

Depressing as it is, if he does get impeached he can just run for the office again. It’s not like disgrace and shame slows him down.

I’ll have to look into that.

(I use fennel bulbs, but only in my seafood stews and dishes; the anise fragrance seals the deal!)

That depends. If the repubs do come around to realizing he is going to seriously stain them if they let him off the hook, and do vote to remove him from office, impeachment can be followed by a vote to ban the individual from ever holding public office again. In this case I suspect they would excercise that.

“the penalty for an impeached official upon conviction is removal from office. In some cases, the Senate has also disqualified such officials from holding public offices in the future.”

From the Senate Website.

I’d speculate that they were feeling salty; but I assume that spice specialists are more nuanced than that.

Thanks for the info! I shop at The Spice House too but not any more.

Pittsburgh here has a Pensey’s Spices in the Strip District, and I didnt know it was a chain, as I’d never seen another.

I always loved the place, and get all my spices there.

I will go stock up with extra double glee, knowing what they are doing with it now. First time I’ve enjoyed a serious corporate position on something.

My favorite spice is their Rogan Josh seasoning, followed by allepo pepper.

Calm down, pumpkin, no need to get salty.

Penney’s berber blend (and willingness to put their money where their mouth is) give me life.

I use Penzey’s spices, and I’m enjoying the support here for rich people spending money to advance their political opinion.

It’s kind of a dick move, but an effective one.

I wish my parents were “moderate centrists”. Or even 90s-style “moderate Republicans”*. Instead, they’re hard-core racist Trump supporters.

*yeah yeah, I know, no such thing, just a neo-Nazi who doesn’t froth at the mouth.

I’m up behind the Orange Curtain, but occasionally make it down to SD. I’ll have to spend some more money there the next time I’m visiting friends.

You won’t regret it I daresay. Their single spice are great and they’ve got some fantastic mixes (Mural of Flavor, anyone?). My mom has to avoid salt and doesn’t miss it when she uses these.

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary fights Crime…

Actually wanted to check Penzeys out in my town, but they keep friggin bankers hours. Always closed when I’m not working.

Random thought: Also Isn’t Penzey also the name of the prep school in Catcher in the Rye?
