All I’m saying is a bad guy would probably assume he could beat a woman of Lucy Lawless’ stature in a fight more readily than he’d assume he could beat a woman of Gwendoline Christie’s stature in a fight. A common occurrence in Wonder Woman’s life is “oh, it’s just a chick. Why don’t you go home before you get hur—THWACK.”
Who would be dumb enough to be so dismissive to a 6’-3" muscle-bound Valkyrie?
Nobody will match the great Julie Newmar for beauty, grace, and strength of a woman nearly 6’ tall in the body a professional dancer and choreographer whose father was a professional football player.

Lawless is 5"10’, taller than the average man. Plus she has a pretty strong jaw, and a robust build, it’s not like she’s Scarlett Johansson
Absolutely, but adding another 5 inches in height and a hefty mass of muscle can easily make the difference between “She’s still just a girl, I can take her!” and “Uh, guys? A little help?”
Gwendoline Christie is an excellent pick for a strong female action hero, just not one who would have to kick a lot of ass before the guys would take her seriously. If Christie was in a Wonder Woman movie I’d cast her as the badass warrior champion who Wonder Woman has to defeat to prove her worthiness to the rest of the Amazons.

Same principle. It’s a lot easier to make someone look heroic when they’re beating up people who are bigger than they are.
