I can see that, but Finland’s neighbor literally just invaded another country and then gave a speech about how they were on the list of ones to tackle next. Is it really hysteria that people would be anxious for a defensive pact?

I mean, yeah. Germany has a 5% rule that means that the truly fringe parties can’t get into parliament if they get less than that percentage of the vote. Ideally that should be enough, but maybe 10% is more realistic. (That doesn’t mean I advocate raising that limit. That would have kept out parties like the greens in their early years, maybe preventing them from ever becoming a force to be reckoned with).

They’ve apparently bought the BS that Le Penn is going to get the scary brown people out and let the Jewish people stay. But of course, we know how fascists work. They NEED an other, and if they get rid of one, they’ll fine another.
It probably help that she now uses the term Judeo-Christian and has actively courted them, while purging the party of her father and his supporters who are openly anti-Semitic.
