Absolutely delusional…

It’s nice to see the party itself pushing back on the notion that they’ll all be happy to have Trump gone.

In the case of Giuliani, at least, it’s that he’s an idiot.

Biden has gone on record saying that he is’t going to do a national shutdown, “because every region, every area, every community can be different. And so there’s no circumstance which I can see that would require total national shutdown. I think that would be counterproductive.” In the video in the link, he also talks about how his answer to the hypothetical question that he was asked originally was “I’d follow the science”.

Last week, one of his COVID-19 advisors, the Director of the Center of Infectious Disease Research and Policy said that a nationwide lockdown of 4-6 weeks with people getting compensated for that time could get the pandemic under control. He specifically noted that it wasn’t a formal recommendation, but at the same time, he says “My only point was if we are going to keep making restrictions state-by-state, there is no compensation for the businesses that are being impacted,”, and “What we’re doing right now is not working.”

AOC also tweeted out that we need to pay people to stay home to get this virus under control.

I understand that the reasons he may say no to a national shutdown are because he knows that the GOP would riot in both a metaphorical and real sense. As well, it would likely expend all of the political goodwill that he’d have. But we need a realist President that does the shit that needs to be done now more than ever. The least that he could do is tell the truth: “A national shutdown of 4-6 weeks with people getting compensated would help to curb COVID-19 numbers and get things under control, but it would be unenforceable. The sad nature of things is that the disease has now become political. Some groups of people would do their best to ignore the science and endanger themselves and those around them.”

i think the main reason biden won’t announce a national shutdown is to avoid the messy spectacle of watching dozens of republican governors telling him loudly and publicly to fuck himself. my governor, greg abbott has already denounced every request to shut things down or even ask people not to travel during thanksgiving.

Time to send this hitter and his shitty batting average back to the minors.

This is my thinking as well. I just think that it’d be refreshing for him to (if this is actually the case) tell the truth.

Well, GA finally certified today (or will in a bit), so I think it’s that?

Yes, I’ve been wondering when the real leaders of our corporatized kleptocracy will finally pull the plug on this cadaverous mutt and pony show.
