Oh? Then what timezone is it in?
There’s no other possible explanation for troops disappearing at night.
Caught on video!
Does anyone know what sort of attack would be implied by attempting to use sunken ferries as a defense?
Obviously irrelevant for anything coming from above the bridge, whether truck bombs or missiles; and (at least judging by the limited available video) the Ukrainian surface drones that they’ve been hitting ships with have absolutely tiny drafts. Are the ferries being sunk in very shallow water to provide a complete barrier even against stuff skimming along the surface? Is a different system that operates at greater depth being prepared against? Is that just a thing that can be readily done so that it can be said that something is being done?
Even if they formed an effective barrier, sinking ferries would be crazy because Russia needs them to compensate for the limited capacity on the bridge – and in case future attacks destroy it or make it completely unusable.
Meanwhile…
Sinking ships to provide a barrier in war time is a time honoured tradition. The reason we know so much about late Viking Age[1] and early medieval ships[2] is that they were often filled with stones and sunk en masse to provide barriers in fjords, which is where the wrecks could still be found and excavated.
Vladimir Putin said the Brics summit “stands for world order based on international law and UN charter” - and the rights of people to their self-development.
On the war in Ukraine, he said.
Some countries promote their hegemony, exceptionality and their policy of the ongoing colonialism and neocolonialism.
I would like to note that their aspiration to preserve their hegemony in the world led to a dire crisis in Ukraine.
In spanish we have the saying “seeing the stalk of grass on the eye of your neighbour, while ignoring the beam in yours truly” (sometimes replacing the stalk of grass by grain of sand, and beam by boulder).
ah. I had not stopped to consider that could have been religious in origin, though in retrospect, and given what spain background is, chances were pretty high.
Oh well, I must have slept that lesson in catechism school Thanks!
BBC News - Wagner boss Prigozhin killed in plane crash in Russia
Is this where we all act shocked?
A little. In Russia? Why the hell would he go back there?
No, we knew sanctions were affecting maintenance on Russian aircraft.
Well, yeah.
He lasted this long?
