Believe the dictator. (See Massha Gessen for details).
was it because of the tan suit?
Personally, i thought he rocked the tan suit.
Anyway, i think i might be thinking of this…
I think I need to watch The Blues Brothers again
He makes awful flicks that bomb in the box office, but get rented out for private wankfests.
I mean I think we all knew this Taliban peace agreement was probably bullshit, but this really seals it.
“VoTe bLUe nO mATtEr wHO”
I didn’t even consider this symbolism until now.
Reminder that:
-
The Taliban were not responsible for 9/11. They are not al-Qaeda.
-
The Taliban offered to hand over Bin Laden. Bush refused the offer.
Not directly, no but they gave AQ a home base and protection. They had different goals but the Venn diagram overlapped quite a bit.
Not saying this take is 100% accurate but JFC the optics here. I know Trump basically doesn’t give two shits about optics but given how seriously people take 9/11 (for better or worse) this seems incredibly tone deaf. Even for him.
We’re not supposed to talk or think about 9/11 too much. Gnash your teeth and rend your garments once a year, then continue not publicly blaming Dick Cheney for this and many other things.
That right. 9/11 is sacrosanct and we must all get in line and show fealty to St. Bush the Lesser. Questions and criticism are forbidden. We have always been at war with Eastasia.
Uh-oh, another wave of brown people has caught Trump’s eye. Better put the kibosh on their thinking the USA might help them out in a time of extreme need.
Edit: I feel so sad and disappointed that the USA which once was the bastion of charity and goodwill now is the thug with the baseball bat. Why???
How long until this gets conveniently swept under the rug?
I always felt this was a terrible idea ever since the news of a potential peace treaty were swirling a few weeks back. And in predictable fashion, Trump’s own hubris played a huge part in tanking the whole thing anyway.
Mr. Trump did not want the Camp David meeting to be a celebration of the deal; after staying out of the details of what has been a delicate effort in a complicated region, Mr. Trump wanted to be the dealmaker who would put the final parts together himself, or at least be perceived to be.
How long before this gets hacked and everybody’s personal information gets posted to pastebin?
And since there’s a tweet for literally everything, someone dug this gem up:
