Trump instructs federal agencies to end Washington Post and New York Times...
White House says the move will save “hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars.”
Moscow Mitch has been pretty open about secure elections favoring Democrats. If we prevent foreign meddling in our elections, it will hurt Republicans. Where I gag is that so many rank-and-file Repubs buy that argument. “If that’s what it takes” “If you aren’t cheating you aren’t trying” shit. All of them are guilty of betrayal of their oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution. Every damn one of them.
Interesting Wapo published it.
So when you’re at Thanksgiving, and your uncle starts going off about “It’s not about the Bidens, Trump is just trying to root out corruption in Ukraine!” you can ask him why Donnie cut funding for anti-corruption measures.
The question that immediately springs to mind is, what is the crime that is being investigated? I have posted this elsewhere, but the answer I believe is…
Which has never been part of US law, but Trump clearly believes that going against his wishes is a crime, making fun of him is a crime, most of all making him look bad is a crime. He has accused those who do this of treason, which could only be possible under lèse majesté. To phrase this more directly,
It’s regicide!
So, let me get this straight. The DOJ, which oversaw the Mueller investigation, is opening an investigation to investigate their own investigation? Because… something? Seems like a wonderful use of tax dollars.
Democrats say whistleblower’s testimony is unnecessary as other witnesses come forward
The Washington Post had identified the whistleblower only as a male CIA officer.
(Perhaps there is a practical advantage to allowing the whistleblower to not come forward… such as being able to remain where she/he presently is [in more than one sense] and perhaps gather more information? Obviously, I have no idea; just guessing.)
i like that advice… except for the first word.
somehow in common usage bizarre becomes a perjorative. it’s like the anti-happy mutant of words. i love bizzare things. the bizzarier the better. ( well. okay. in well regulated doses. )
it’s good to hear more people talking about alternatives to “crazy.” it’s definitely perjorative. and often lazy. so many other words out there. let’s use them.
White House says the move will save “hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars.”
I already have a subscription to the Washington Post, but suddenly I feel the need for a New York perspective on current events.
being able to remain where she/he presently is
It was reported that the person had returned to Langley. But, really, who the f’k knows.
Analysts question latest Trump policy shift that reportedly includes deployment of more troops alongside Kurdish forces.
Somebody forgot to tell the dumbass-in-charge what pays for wars.
It should’ve been quite easy for Peter Navarro to answer "no" — unless the answer really is "yes."
Because, come on, of course it did!
Maybe he was waiting for Ron Vara to answer?
ETA: This quote form the end of the article is priceless:
"But his assertion that the real problem is journalists reporting information and quotes from anonymous sources (a common practice in journalism) was a weak dodge. Because the alternative to quoting anonymous government officials is to ask government officials to answer your questions on the record — which is exactly what Scuitto was doing. And still Navarro refused to answer. "
Even worse than not knowing the price of milk.
Does this administration really believe that two newspaper subscriptions comes to hundreds of thousands of dollars, especially now that it brings online access as well?
